• I DESPERATELY NEED AN EVALUATION ON MY ARTWORK

Would anyone be able to make a quick evaluation of my artwork? Just talk about the tone, positioning in the foreground, middle ground and background and where I made strong/weak choices. It's a view through my blinds.

The buyer wants to display the original in a beauty salon and would also like to use it on their business cards as a logo. I have no idea of pricing or anything and would...

  • Re: What is original art

Hi Starrpoint, If i may, there is so much more... Art or not, original or not, copy or not, student or not, artist or not, amateur or not. All tend to matter greatly as we all wish to be understood. Just suppose God is the original artist and his creations are the only original art. This would make everything...

I work with an artist co-op that holds several open entry shows a year (ea, shows that are open to non-members) We have a juror and...
If you take your own photo, your are allowed to trace the arabesque of your own photo until the cows come home. It is your original photo.
When you paint from a photo, closely, not simply for reference, you are copying much of the creativity of the photographer...

If you read their prospectus, where they spell out what the show is all about and what is and is not allowed, you will usually see something to the effect that no diriviative works or works...

  • Re: What is original art

A long time ago, I entered an "Animals in Art" competition at school. I loved owls and horses but was very poor and had no ready opportunity to see a real owl or a horse and no pictures of real ones to study for my painting. However, my mother had a Time Life book with a picture of a zebra...
