    windsor and newton spray gloss. Is spray varnish the choice for artists or varnish brushed on? And, as a collector od 1800's antique oil paintings, I want to paint this way---is glazing with a darker glaze the answer to get this antique appearance? help!!!!!! ann

  • glazing over varnish

    Help! I want to tone down (glaze) over a varnished painting. Okay to mix oil paint with Liquin and glaze over varnished painting? Or do I need to get varnish removed first--how to, without removing the oil paint on the canvas? Thanks!
