  • How do you prep Minature canvas under 6"?

    I am entering a Juried show with my first miniature canvas and I am told the smaller the canvas the more you see the grain. How much is this ever a deterrent to judges if they notice your gesso allows grain to still be seen. ~Beverly~

    exactly.... you will not age it in the way you prob may want...i''tll *** your painting up.....in a couple years...it might make it better....go for it...dont be afraid to destroy something you love ...tis the first rule to artistry

    Getting back to oils after 30 some years of not painting,switched and took lessons in acrylics 6 years ago.but I am wondering how this picture is viewed by others. It is 24x16.I keep thinking it has a slight feel of Grandmother Moses, the small trees seem to lollypopish to me..what to do? Or am I too...
