Hi I am getting back to drawing and love the expressiveness of charcoal as a medium for figure drawing. I have tried out vine charcoal and compressed charcoals on Strathmore Charcoal paper. I find that vine erases too easily and the compressed charcoals are hard to erase and a bit greasy. Could someone...

Hi friends, Just finished up a little charcoal drawing today. This one is 5" x 7" on gray Canson Mi Tientes drawing paper. The size is a bit small for my tastes (it's for an art league gift exchange), but I was relatively pleased with the drawing overall.

Kisu, this is good information. Thank you for sharing it. I was very disappointed with the sandpaper block that I had. This gives me a promising alternative.
