Challenge: Create artwork based on any or all of these photos and themes. Use any medium and any style. Stick to the photo(s) exactly or just use them as a starting point - feel free to crop, change colors, composition, add or subtract elements or take a complete departure. In other words, HAVE FUN and keep painting!

CHALLENGE WITHIN A CHALLENGE IS TO ILLASTRAIGHT A LINE FROM A SONG AND USE IT FOR A TITLE.

All photos are taken by me and feel free to use them

The theme is barns and old structure

.  A little fuzzy because I took it through the windshield.

  Covered bridge Scipio IN.

A couple for those that like to copy other artist work

The Kiss by Taluses Lautrec and Henry Moore's Large Arch in front of the library Columbus IN  For those that like to do animals my dog Bigen

And finally for the flower people a castor bean leaf at Spring Mill State Park

I hope you all can find something that you can work with and enjoy.

Geri, thank you for hosting again. Great theme of the old structures and I really like the theme within a theme idea. Good thinking. I enjoy seeing everyone's art and do hope to get back to doing some art work this month.

"Barn at Ohio Veteran's Memorial" 18" x 10" watercolor, 12-06-2011.

This an old one that fits the barn theme.

OK, I need to make a change in the signature lines at the bottom of the page and I have forgotten how to do that. HELP!

This  is a drawing of one of my nearest Town's street (well part of it) drawn plein air. I posted it on Chatter a long ago but thought it may be ok for here under 'old structures'.

Brown profipen........perspective is as it is...wonky chimney, no doorsteps. A4 very smooth cartridge paper

Geri thanks for hosting again.  Great pics and theme.  I still have a lot going on but hope I can get something done for this Month.  I hope they can fix your virus so you can get back on line.

Charlie good to see you again.   I remember this painting.  Great job.  To make changes go to edit profile at the top right of the header by your name.

Sarah  your plain air drawings are always wonderful.  This looks like an interesting street.  I would love to walk it in person.

Oh dear, I did that a few weeks ago Geri...but mine was fraud and my bank recognised it immediately and froze my account. Sorted that evening. Hope your problem is as quickly resolved.

Hello Karen,

thanks for commenting.... all old buildings in the UK  come under conservation laws. Any buildings which are over 200 years old (and some of them even under 75 years old) have to be maintained exactly as they looked when first built . The interiors may be modernised to some extent but the planning permission is very time consuming and costly.

I am sure you would enjoy walking around my village too.

Sarah, VERY nice drawing!  Your perspective is good with the "wonky" stuff.

Charlie, Your patriotic barn fits right in with the theme! Nice one.

Sarah, Your sketch too is perfect. I love the wonky chimneys! So typical.
