This morning as you logged into the American Artist website, you might have been surprised to see a new design and even a new name and new URL. . . Yes, a few things have changed today!  Smile

This new website, Artist Daily is now the umbrella website for the magazine published by American Artist and it will also be the hub for new products, events, competitions and goodies for artists.  If you haven't already signed up to be a member of the site, now is the time.

You'll reap the benefits of getting the eNewsletter full of the first notices for events, competitions, special issues, blogs and new products.

You will also get to participate in the forums and groups, upload your work to the galleries and get to know new artists.

I've put together a short video tour of the new site, mentioning some new features and showing how you can join the site if you haven't already done so.

As always, if you have questions, write to me anytime by clicking on my name and then clicking "start conversation" in my profile.

I'm absolutely delighted with the new format. The design is easy to follow/read. This forum just keep getting better. Thanks for all your hard work.

Well, thank you Lori Smile

Lots of thanks goes to the tech and audience development staff for all their work as well.  There is a very good team behind the new site.  Lots of creative, smart and helpful people at Interweave.  Wink

Two thumbs up for the new site.  I really like it, navigation is easier than before .. it has a clean fresh look about it.  Congrats to Karyn and all who worked on it!  I haven't had time to go over all of it but I'm sure it's all as good as what I have seen so far.

Well, I just perused the new site. I like the changes, so far. I noticed a few options have been deleted, and some changed. I haven't tried uploading yet. I hope there are changes there too.

Hi All!  Big Smile

Glad you like the new site.  I'm pleased with it, too.  Please do let me know if you see any issues right away and I'll let our tech staff know.

Karyn,

Are the stars at the top of this for rating this posting and if so once I click on the stars how do I know that the information has been "sent." Also, just a note on the video tour. You mention that there is going to be a link in the email that will take you back to the website once you join. You mention to find the link in the email and click on it to complete the process of joining the group. Out of curiousity, I went back and reviewed my email to see if there was a link and didn't see one. It wasn't a problem for me; I just went back to the website and logged in with no problem. You may want to check it out because that might be confusing to someone.

Hello Margo,

Yes, the stars at the top of the post are for rating the post.  You'll know your vote has been put through if the system adds you to the number of people that have "rated" the post.  So far, no one has rated this one.  But, sometimes it takes the system 10 minutes to put votes or even comments into effect, so take heart if you don't see your vote right away.

I'll look into the email issue.  If you had previously joined myamericanartist.com or forums.myamericanartist.com, then you wouldn't have received an email notifcation.

Thanks

FiveBroomsArt, I have to agree with you about the new design.  I been a member for about a year and I have seen all of the effort that the staff has made to make this an excellent artist's community.  I believe the new design has a more professional look.  Another thing I like is the ease of moving around the site. One of my favorites is the "Posts You Have Not Read"  Makes it so easy to quickly see what is new in the forums. I have been to other sites and I find them so difficult to follow.  The new upgrade video section is fantastic.

On another note, I believe you can have all of the bells and whistles but if you don't have talented members willing to share their work and knowledge with everyone then you just have another ordinary website.  The new design draws very talented artists.  Looking forward to seeing your work. Thanks, Sharon
