WELCOME TO THE AUGUST ALL MEDIA PHOTO CHALLENGE!

Challenge: Create artwork based on any or all of these photos and themes. Use any medium and any style. Stick to the photo(s) exactly or just use them as a starting point - feel free to crop, change colors, composition, add or subtract elements or take a complete departure. In other words, HAVE FUN and keep painting!

Also, do artwork on anything that reminds YOU of summer!

The first seven photos are from PMP:

1.  PMP  "Perranporth 3" by Nicola B

2.   PMP "Poolballs" by Lillian Bell

3.   PMP "Old South Home" by Vikki Wooley

4.   PMP "Stephie" by Carolyn Dickenson

5.   PMP "Summer Colours" by Vivienne Adams

6.   PMP  "...say the bell of St. Clemons" by Jim Humphreys

7.  PMP  "Young Megan" by Lorna Winch

The next five photos are used by permission of my friend, Traci Ecklund.

The last five photos were taken by me.

Nealey, you have chosen a nice photo selection for inspiration. I think I see Niagara Falls in your friend's photos and yours are lovely and interesting.

Hello Bonnie!  Yes, that is Niagara Falls and the bridge is the Rainbow Bridge, connecting US to Canada.  Living relatively close to the Falls (about 2 hrs.), I forget what a wonder it is to others.

Well I needed a break from fish and paint so made this sun loving gnome, that probably counts as summer fun!

Made from clay about 6' long. Still some finishing to do.

Jen,what a great beginning for the August challenge!  Do you have little gnomes stowed in your paint closet to pose for you?!?!?!?  She looks like she is daydreaming - how precious!  Did you finish your other gnomes yet?

This is so clever and charming, Jen! It's takes a whole different way of thinking to interpret something three dimensionally. So nicely done!

Hi all.  I just got my new laptop hooked up and running.  Its going to be good to get back to doing something instead of being lazy and this looks like a good month to start.

How does Moses make tea??  Hebrews it.

Nealey, Alex and Karen, glad you like him .i know he looks like a girl with all that long hair but I made him a he!! He still needs a bit of refining. I had to draw up his pose because it is difficult to imagine  how body parts fit. The other gnomes are finally off for their first firing and it will remain to be seen if they make it through okay. Maybe I will make another to keep this one company in the warm sun!

Geri, I am so glad you are back in business as you have been very much missed!
