I have recently developed a love for painting people's pets in watercolor.  Not only do I get enjoyment out of painting the portraits, but I really love it when a person unwraps the painting and they see it for the first time.  For me, there is nothing better than that moment.

Here are a few recent examples of work I completed - I'd love to hear your feedback.

Beautiful work! We have quite a few pet portrait artists here - myself included - and you are right - the biggest thrill is to capture someone’s beloved pet and see their joy and excitement upon receiving it! I mostly work on wildlife subjects now, but every now and then will do a commissioned pet portrait. Enjoy and keep up the awesome work!

Very nice!  I especially like your boxer!  My first portrait was a boxer and I guess I am just partial to them!  You are so right, I often have artists tell me they won't do commissions, and sometimes they ARE a challenge but the joy the patons shows is ALMOST as nice as the cash for doing them!

Good luck with your commissions!

Beautiful works! I am partial to the black lab. What a beautiful breed, and you've captured the majesty very well! I like the kind of 3/4 shot of the lab, too, as opposed to only the "bust". It lends a bit of originality. I can imagine the looks on people's faces when they see your work- it's wonderful!
