Saturday is the 2nd annual Drawing Day, a day when all artists are urged to make at least one drawing and post it online in a sign of solidarity.

The organizers of the event are shooting for 1 million drawings this year. We at Drawing magazine are thrilled to be able to support this initiative, and we hope that you will respond by drawing whatever strikes your fancy and posting it to this thread on Saturday. Come on, peeps--get drawing!

For more information, read the blog post on this event here.

Hello everyone.

The edit staff will choose the three most interesting drawings posted to this thread and contact the artists to get their snail mail address. We will mail them a free copy of Drawing Highlights, a great compilation of articles on figure drawing. Click here to see what it's about:

Looking forward to tomorrow!

She is absolutely lovely! You are so awesome with portraits!

Here is my drawing - it is a portrait of my niece’s labrador retreiver “Penny” in charcoal.

Thanks Bob for sweetening the pot!  I already see my competition for the most interesting pieces is mighty fierce, fabulous work already posted, and I'm not thru my coffee yet!!

(Bob...maybe those of us who aren't as talented could REALLY USE it AngelDevil)

I'll be posting later on today.

Drawing Day

I'd been in a slump but I had a great time with this pencil portrait.  Maybe this will get me going again. Thanks for the challenge.

My drawing is at my blog: http://vjconokinawadrawandpaint.blogspot.com/

I tried adding it to a couple of other listed groups participating but they would not upload.

Hope this goes through ok.

There are some good drawings out there!

After wasting 2 hours trying to scan and photoshop the size to the accetpted limit here is a drawing of my son painting..

I didn't want to spend 2 more hours removing the sprial bindings from the drawing so I hope nobody minds that they are still there...
