Recently got back into art. Started with gesture drawings a few days ago and noticed that i can improve on line.
I mostly practice 30 second gesture drawings and would appreciate if anyone can make recommendations for improving quality of line. My lines appear to be shaky and broken.
I'm a beginner too and I've been searching ( and I am still searching) for numerous tips on how to generally draw better.
I learned that one shouldn't be so restrictive on the arm, and not to draw using just your hand and wrist. Rather, draw with your whole arm. When you draw with your whole arm you get better lines. Of course for the finer details, you kind of have to restrict this a bit, but when you sketch, it should be with the whole arm.
I hope this was as insightful for you as it was for me.
Bob and I =one word: Awesome
make long strokes and absorb the shakey ones into the drawing.
Thanks, i'll try that
