What to do about the face?

Hello there.

This is the second painting of this style that I've done. The first one wasn't as close-up on the face, there was more torso and a whole arm in frame. In that painting I left the face completely blank and it looked okay, I think.

This painting, on the other hand, is really focused on the face. I'm not sure if I can get away with leaving it blank.

What I'd like is your opinion. Do you think I can leave it blank? If no, could I just paint, for example, the mouth or eyes?

Any opinion will be happily received.

Have a great day.

Alan

I vote for leaving it blank. If that is your style then go with it. I like the texture in the paint too.

Can we see the other painting you did with no face?

If it is a series then I would say leave it blank if the others are too. Id like to see the other ones as well.

What is the sense of emotion you are trying to convey? Each facial feature has different strengths with the expression youre looking for. Is there a reason for the blank face? Is the focus on the expression of the rest of the body? Nice job btw

Agree with previous replies - a series of these with all blank faces would be very interesting indeed

Hi,

I like it blank.  It leaves something to the imagination.
