I'm new here to Artist Daily, but not new to the art world. As a profession, I am a graphic designer and visual effects 3D modeler and animator/compositer. When I'm not at my job 40 hrs. a week I am spending time with family and drawing and painting as much as I can.
I love many kinds of art. Obviously because I work on a computer for my design and animation work, I am predominately a digital artist - meaning that I use powerful creative software to produce art. The software doesn't do the art for me, just like a brush or pencil doesn't produce the art. The hardware and software tools I use to produce my art through digital means are just that, tools to help me express my creativity.
When I'm not producing art digitally, I am sketching, drawing, and painting in traditional mediums such as pencil, charcoal, color pencil, pastels, pen & ink, acrylic and oils. I love art, both traditionally and digitally.
I grew up in a military family that has a long and rich heritage of military. My father was in the USAF as was I. I served as a crew chief on KC-135 aircraft in the mid to late 1990's and even earned my private pilot's license in the early 1990's so you can probably guess rightly that I love all things aviation, particularly military aviation.
So my art reflects a lot of aviation subjects. I also love landscape art, and the two fields go hand in hand, Aviation Art and landscapes.
I'm always learning too, I never tire of learning. As I'm just starting to dive into oils, I hope to learn a lot here.
Thank you for having me!
