Sarah, a lovely sailing painting! The colors are beautiful, and I especially love the deep blue of the water.
Catherine, a good pre-sketch and very interesting reading about your philosophy on these preparatory sketches. I'm definitely coming around to your way of thing on that subject.
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
Hello to ALL who have made kind comments on the yacht...thank you.
Alex ....I painted about four/five glazes (acrylic 'washes') to achieve the deep tones of the water...didn't take long as acrylics dry so quickly when thinly applied..

Shameer ~ Your charcoal drawing of the boy is nice. He looks desperately thirsty. Looking forward to more posts of your art.
Catherine ~ It is a great practice to do prelim sketches. I think you got the shapes blocked in quite well.
Sarah ~ Lovely sailboat! What also caught my eye is the background shoreline. I live by a lake that looks similar to your painting and I have spent a lot of time just sketching the houses and trees on the far shore.
Comments and critiques are welcome.
My name is Denis Gaumond I am new to this site and find it so motivating to see the work of so many talented artist. I saw this challenge and decided to try it as a way to learn and get better at it . So I made a small paint (oil 16 by 16) and my inspiration is your daughter picture in the field. the picture is a bit dark.

Hello Denis, are you in Quebec? Welcome to our group! I love your exuberant painting of Sheila's daughter in the wheat field.
Welcome Denis!!! You did a fantastic job with the painting of Jessica in the wheat field. You really captured her care-free spirit. Love how you did her hair. That is something I definitely need to work on.
yes I am living close to Montreal but born closer to Quebec city.
Very nice painting Denis. Nice color and a very good likeness.
C and C always welcomed
Shameer great charcoal drawing. Very lifelike.
Please excuse my ignorance. I know that A4 is a paper size but what size is that??
Welcome Denis, you have done a wonderful painting of Sheila's daughter. If you wish for people to comment and critique your work you can add this as a line on your profile. You can also add your name and it will appear on all your posts. It's very nice to view your work.
Bonnie C & C most welcome / appreciated
Sarha Very nice painting. It almost looks photo realistic. I love it.
Catherine See all the little piggies in their starched white shirts. Well maybe no white shirts but a nice quick sketch
Glad to see you posting again.
Sarha love your hog. She looks what we call a Duroc here in the states. My uncle always said they were mean and wouldn't have one the place. I like how you showed the long hair . A lot of people don't know how bristlely they are. Just look at Porky pig he is all smooth and pink.
Nealey nice drawing of the old speedwagon. You have nice dark shadows and white highlihgts very good.
