Sam, so glad to hear you are home. Hope all goes well now for you. Such beautifull zentangled eggs. I am a fan of those roses, a nice pattern. The straw and shading really sets them off. A very nice zentangle.

Jen,  I went back and looked at your Aubrey piece it is very nice. you captured the essence of it quite nicely.   It was one that didn't come through to me due to the email situation.

Sam, it is so good to have you back! Your Zentangle eggs are beautifully shaped and the patterns are lovely. The subtle gray shading gives them a natural-looking roundness, and I love the grass or hay they are nested in. So beautifully done.

James, am I correct in thinking the fairy princess is waving a sword at the hawk and Froggie is waving a piece of FOLIAGE? Oh, my goodness, is he a wimp or what?

Marsha, this is such a clever treatment if the decorated egg, with the "see-through" holder and the fragment of shell lying on the table! Plus, it's a great touch to have a chicken as part of the design on the egg. Very creative, very nice work!

Well I would say our minds are on the same track as this is what I worked on tonight. I am not much on painting birds but I guess Sammy's grass made me think of a nest and the rest is history. He is getting the eggs ready for Easter fun. I didn't manage any really lyrical zentangles but it was still fun.

Hmmm I see i missed some branch!

Whow Marsha, wonderful zentangle. The story is great. I guess Waldo is breaking loose. Love his little heart.  I really like the touches of colour and the egg holder that lets you see the whole egg. Just wonderful.

It is a wonderful zentangle evening. Love your kestrel Jen. You have capture her (must be with nest of eggs)  falcon facial features, even with the patterns. Great selection of patterns. She looks all dressed up for Easter. Great ptg.

Jen, this Zentangle kestrel is so boldly handsome and has such presence. Great job!

Thank you folks,   it was a fun but sort of confusing thing to do.

Jen don't strain,  Waldo grew up....  tee hee..

The heart has a little Ekg in it to explain that too many eggs isn't healthy for your cholesterol.   The feather represents, flying the coop.  I love 4 min eggs and we eat probably too many of them,  I have two of these little wire egg holders.  but all of our eggs are free range browns with spots.

Jen:  Now I have to ask,,,,  Kestrels are Falcons and they eat other birds and steal eggs...  Is he stealing the eggs from the nest???? or just on an Easter egg hunt... LOL      Truly like the Am. Kestral and the nest idea is cool...  I love the way you did the texture on the branches.   You said you bought a book on Zentangles ,   what a great idea.  I think I will order me one.     Great Job.

Bonnie , thanks, I wasn't thinking of the bird as a her as he looks too dominant and it is supposed to be a basket of eggs with nest type lining. I had no idea what a Kestrals nest would look like other than huge! I have to think he went and bought eggs to decorate as no killing or robbing allowed in my art!! Alex thank you I think his "presence" is what makes me feel he is a he!! Marsha what have we started !! As far as the zentangles in the book they are more complicated than I could get on the Kestral. He is mostly circles and squiggles. For the tree I just made those first circling marks then added the lines to make it turn a bit then just did a couple of wiggly circles to suggest knots in the wood. I added some shadow with a pencil. Just keep it simple. Sammy has the really pretty designs down. I would need a lot more practice for them.

Jen oh wow.....  youre right but oh what fun we are having.      The Kestrel in the photo is definitely a male because of the coloring. size wize he is the smallest falcon in the US...  about the size of a male hand.  BUT...  when they were nesting in my attic, they both took care of the eggs in their nest...  so he could be taking care of the nest,  and or he found out the easter bunny came by and colored his eggs.   hence the look on his face.   tee hee....

Jen I love the work you did as well as the intricate designs that Sam did.  They take up your mind.....   and cause wierd dreams....   zen...  hmmmm
