Thanks to all of you for your well wishes. I will post more about my hospital visit in the Chatter thread. I didn't try to use the iPad again after sending my short message. My husband loves it but I don't like using it. Typing is not easy.
Jen, I also like how you did Aubrey's dress and sweater. The basket and eggs looks terrific. I like her hair also but wonder if the bright bow may draw the viewer's attention there. You are learning so much with your quick sketches. The colored pencils provide a softer look than the pens. Maybe it would work better if it were one or the other (strong bold colors vs. soft colors). This is a very good drawing of Aubrey.
Caroline, your determination is inspiring. Your pencil sketch of Aubrey's face is well done. The eye looks good. I think that her month may need to be a little broader. The neck is good and so is the hair. I'm looking forward to the painting.
Through your watercolor sketches you are getting real familiar with your subject. I have no doubt that with your determination, you will end up with a fantastic painting of Aubrey. Looking forward to it.
Marsha, perhaps you could end everybody's agony by posting a larger photo with more resolution so that they can enlarge it to get a good look at what they are trying to do. You additional photos of Aubrey are beautiful. She is a beautiful child.
Jim, now you're getting creative. I love your feisty, sword-bearing fairy. The pink sky with the green dots is so interesting as is the frog who is peering through a hole is the wall. And, last but not least, the kestrel is sooo creative and well done.
good to see you back Sam
Thank you Jen And Sam for your encouraging comments it keeps us inspired to hear from you
Jim C&C welcomed
Zentangle helped me ward off boredom in the hospital and I worked on it until my eyes didn't function anymore. So here's my Easter eggs.
Good to see you back Sam and I'm glad you're feeling better! These eggs are beautiful! I love the grass and the shading in this! Thank you for your comments on my efforts with the Aubrey photo.

C&C's are welcome.
(No digital alterations please)
Sam the eggs are great. Love the oak leaves and the little design that looks like roses. I first thought that it needed some color washes but the more I looked at I realised that this was good enough to hold its own the way it is .
C and C always welcomed
I am holding all of my comments until I see the final product Catherine. I am sure they will be very good.
Nice sparrow hawk Jim.I think that if you would put a slight shadow on the wing on the left that it would look more cupped like it was catching the air. The pose you have your fairy in looks very natural and of course Froggy is hanging around as usual. He ought to be glad she has that sword to protect him.
Catherine, Jen and Geri, Thank you so much for you very kind comments on my eggs and the good wishes regarding my health.
Jen I kind of like the strong color of her bow and eggs. They kind of keep the eye moving around so you take in the whole picture. The pink in the dress reminds me of old faded photos. I do believe there needs to be more darks added around her dress th make her stand out from the wall more.
Awesome Sam. Hope all is better.
Jean M.
Critique and criticism appreciated.
Sam very nice zentangled eggs is zentangled a word? glad you're posting
Geri thanks I know whatyou mean about the wing I tryed but haven"t figured out how yet
Jim this is beautiful, you really captured the American Kestrel in flight. This is a most interesting bird (falcon), I used to watch them fly and steal baby birds out of other nests,
I found this picture online in an encyclopedia section of one with a wing span. You did a great job. It seems the fairy is protecting the frog... as well she should.
MARSHA
C & C Always Welcome
It takes courage to learn about oneself from one’s failures as well as from one’s successes.
Sammy I am soooo happy you are home and resting as well as getting a good report on your stent. Absolutely love the eggs in the nest of grass. beautiful. I'm glad you had something to do to keep your mind off of hospital goings on. Good for you. Rest, and get better.
Sam, I left a message for my daughter to look for a better resolution of this photo. she took the pictures I got them via email among several others of the day. Hopefully she will come through.
Cath: wow I certainly admire your perseverance , I am having problems with her as well you are really making good strides into a completion...
