Jen, you are getting a lot of drawing practice in.  These children walking in the park look very nice.  You got the younger one's legs down beautifully.  One can feel the motion.  Her legs look well, too.  I love to see the bottom of the shoes.  Good shadows and values.

Jean, very cute painting.  They do look old fashioned.  You caught the motion of their walk also.  Fun painting.

Sarah, the cyclamen looks so good and I also like how you suggested the leaves.  Pretty little painting.

Jen, I'm back to start this months challenge.  mmmmmmmm what to do you have made my choice hard.  I'm starting with one picture which I hope is easy and maybe I can then move on to another one of your photos.  What is with that yummy cake, don't you know if I so much as look or think chocolate I gain 10 lbs.  oh no I feel the weight coming on as I type.

Jean, your ptg "Friends" is a lovely. I think your correct that her hair could be a little darker but it is alright the way it is. Your change of setting is nice. The frame also addes anice finished look.

Sarah, I like your miniture cyclamen, they must be gorgeous in your garden with the snowdrops. I really like your background, it is wonderful and your pink is right on for the flower. Very nice painting.

Bonnie, a lovely painting of the kingfisher! The colors are beautiful and the background is very well done. I, too, was amazed when I started to paint birds and looked at photos online, only to see that every photo of the same kind of bird looked different!

Sam, it was interesting seeing your pointillism in pastel and to read what you wrote about doing it. I can almost without exception identify your work at a glance no matter what the subject is because you have such a unique style, but this was the exception, so I know it was outside your comfort zone. Having said that, though, I admire you a great deal for your versatility and willingness to experiment and incorporate new approaches into your work.

Bonnie, I love your India ink paintings of the snowy landscape. That medium is so unforgiving because it can't be corrected. You captured the look of a very snowy landscape when everything is just black and white.

James, it's a good thing you like painting flowers because you have the most beautiful collection of props in your wife's lovely china pieces! And you always do justice to their beauty. I'm envious!

Dave, so nice to see you! The colors in your kingfisher are beautiful - a very nice piece!

Bonnie, your painting of the house across the road on a pinkirning is lively. You are really capturing the infinite variety of beautiful snowy scenes.

Thank you for the comments.   .because the cyclamen are corms I plant them under other plants and this particular one was beneath a flowering winter heather. We have the four seasons in one day here!!!

Jen, and everyone else, your paintings are beautiful, what a wonderful gift you all have.  The challenges are fun and I enjoy doing them also not that I do them all but I try.  It is hard to keep with everyone on the site.  I wanted to do the swan picture but would like to do it larger than a card size and I needed to make a card for my sister's birthday so I changed the picture a little for the card.  Enjoy!

Swans and Cats!!!...well      here are two inseparable elderly cocker spaniels  called Biscuit and Bracken (was a commission). Their eyes were a bit dull due to old age.
