Holly, I have a question about a subject that concerns me.  Since this forum was started the Challenge threads have been titled Challenge #1, Challenge #2. Challenge #3 on up to Challenge #25 - November 2012.  Now, all of a sudden, the Challenges are being titled whatever.  In my opinion, the inconsistency makes it difficult to find what we are looking for.  Is it possible to request consistency with the titles of the Challenges?  This months Challenge should be Challenge #27 - January 2013.  I did send that information to Geri via Conversation but evidently he didn't receive it.

When I saw Geri's photo of Myers cabin in the January challenge that posted today, I thought of you immediately, and wondered if the bears would be sightseeing there!

Fred, evidently, Mountain Joe polished off the moonshine celebrating the new year and has to brew a new batch.  I love the fiery sky and the repeat of the fire under the still.  Hillbilly looks very relaxed and content.

Holly - What a great painting!   Thanks for posting.  I believe that painting the people we love are the most emotionally draining.  What a treasure for him and his family.

Sam - I agree, that makes sense for the challenges to be numbered sequentially.  I like it that if I see challenge #27 I know it's after 2012. 

One of my New Year resolutions is to finally jump in on a Challenge instead of sitting on the side lines and just blending into the scenery.  On that subject - have all the months been filled???  If not, I would do one.

Sammy - I agree about continuing the numbering of the challenges.  It makes  it much easier to spot and to refer back when we are doing references from older challenges.  I have just finished 2 older references - one from #14 and one from #18 (#18 was not numbered so I had a hard time re-locating it.)

December 2012 would have been #26 and this month (January, 2013) should be #27.  I will get with Jen on the February challenge and make sure she gets the word to be certain to number it as Challenge #28.

Thanks, Sheila - and you are right about being emotionally draining to paint the people we love- especially in the case of this particular young man!

I am looking forward to seeing your posts - - just jump right on in and we will all be delighted.

Sheila, yes, August is still open for hosting  the Challenge thread.  I have May and if you would rather do that month, we could switch.  Go to the thread titled 2012 hosting schedule and make your request.

Sheila - I so quickly read your post and responded that I totally ignored your question about hosting for a month.  Sammy is right - August is still available.  Is August a convient month for you?  If so, then just let us know and I will put your name on the list.

Jen - That's a good idea - I'll contact Courtney and see if she can add the numbers.  I know we can't edit the title line after it's posted. but maybe she can.

We have numbers! ( for January and December).  So far, Courtney has not been able to find ( ) April, 2012 but when she does she will number that one #18.
