how can I make a painting like this? The description of the picture said that it was done with acrylic paint...how exactly would I go about this?

I'm very new to painting so if you could be as specific as possible it would be lovely.

Here is a link to the picture: http://i46.tinypic.com/2jferzd.jpg

Thank you!

lay panel on flat surface, thoroughly wet leaving water on, drop or pour paint onto panel from 2-3ft then with brush wave in paint or just tilt panel each way and paint will run. Messy but great effects.

Bit of a sidetrack but definitely worth exploring. Started as early as the 15th century, perfected in Turkey "EBRU" paper Marbling can be found all over the world and yet little known. I think the possibilities are limitless.

Dick Blick has some of the supplies as well it's called Suminagashi.

Please let me know how it goes, if you decide to try it. I think if you push the techniques to fit your idea, and add your own unique methods, it could expand on your original concept. And possibly create a new form and a new expression.
