I only very recently discovered artist daily and find this to be a most exiting and interesting place.

For myself, I am self-taught and started very late in life (after retirement). All my life I was convinced I can't draw so I didn't try. Only after retirement I picked up a watercolour brush only to find out that do be able to do anything worth the time, I needed to learn how to draw. Since I was fascinated, and still am, by portraits, this is what I gave a try. Many countless hours later, this is where I am.

The drawing is roughly lifesize, done from my own photo (a poor one), paper is Schoellershammer Durex 6R. Pencils ranging from 3H (for glazing mostly) to 3B (very dark areas). Didn't count the hours but it has to be close to 200 - 250 hours.

This very good.  I to have started  later in life to draw and paint.  Already you are ahead of me.

This is really wonderful work.

I can't tell you how amazed I am that you started late in life and are self taught. Your work displays excellent draftsmanship and control of form.

Keep up the great work. I say that often but especially in your case.
