Nice to meet you all.  I spent the  morning looking for an 'active forum' that I could share and learn from other artists.  This looks like a good one :-)

I just received a new (used book from Amazon,) which I think is awesome.  An Artists Guide to Drawing Heads.

I am practicing to hone my lacking skills at nailing "features" in order to do good Portraiture in Oil.  Hope you like this one, it is my 3rd so far.,

This is VERY nice.  You have the proportions done pat.  The eyes are very well done, too.

I like the look of your face, quite moody, expressive.  Could I suggest you look at the ear in this drawing and at the same time look at your own ear's placement on your face, to me it looks like the ear should come up quite a bit, and to define the placement at the bottom, the hair could be darkened a bit.

Hi Valerie, thanks, you are rght on...I checked the reference. ...sometimes we look so hard...we can't see, lol.

valerie, you are right. The ear should be up higher, inline with eyebrow  and bottom of nose.
