Oil on canvas 16x20.
I am looking for comments or suggestions as to what is working and where there could be improvement. Thank you.
I think both of your pieces are nice...in both pieces the objects look as if they are floating, you need to figure out how to get them to sit on the tables. Ditto with the table cloths. I also think you need to work on your corners, the corner/edges of the table and books. Really like the china cup...nicely done!

I suppose that Maureen has a point, but your work in this painting is so beautiful that I never would have noticed it.
kkedz,
I think this painting is excellent. While the colors are rich and intense, they are not over done. Also, the drawing is very good.
I do not think you have a problem with things looking like they are floating, as one comment stated. The strong shadows on the table are providing a good anchor against that.

Thanks, Maureen. Not sure I see the same problems as you do but that is why I put these here. Thanks for your feedback.
Thank you very much.
I see you have another signed painting. Since it seems as if you do not mind people making comments....I would suggest taking your image into photoshop and turning the image into a black and white photo. No the objects are not floating instead the one highlight at the center of the basket base seems to need to be a bit too light. Also check your yellow pepper while the image is reduced to b&w, do you see it?
Kat..I think you're spot on, the yellow pepper is pulling the piece to the right, which makes it appear to me as if the objects are not grounded.
