Fred, glad you found something springy to paint.  The bears look great with such shiny fur.  Love the daffodils, colorful birds and bunnies peering over the shrubs.  This definitely is a celebration of spring.  I can hear the birds singing.  Those bears are hungry.  Hope they find some berries and honey.  Thanks for participating in the Challenge.

Since you like to do landscapes, I'm sure you can think of lots of spring themes.

James good to see you back here. Lovely painting of Sammy's daughter. You have really captured her spirit and vitality. I like the car and pumps scene too. Take us all back a bit. My grandfather had an Austin like that in England when I was a child. From the old pictures I'd say, he got it pre war. He babied that car like a child. He wouldn't take it out if it rained and if it did get wet he would spend hours in the garage drying it and polishing it. When he finally got too old to drive it in the late fifties he sold it. The guy buying could see how it hurt my grandpa to get rid of it so he offered to let him take something as a momento. My grandpa loved clocks so he asked for the clock. I still have it.it worked fine until a few years ago and there is nobody in our area who could work on it.

Fred, love your take on spring with the bears and rabbits, birds and daffodils. The new life pooping up everywhere is my favorite time of the year too.

Fred- Nice to see the Bears coming back for the Spring time. I can see a variety of birds coming out too, there is a red woodpecker and some other little birds, very springy. Good job.

I see people are coming back here for Spring break too, James, Cindy, Jen, Holly, Wow! the whole group. I am feeling the vitality vibe here already.

FRED -  It is spring and the hibernation time is over, time to come out and smell the flowers...

That goes for the rest of us as well,  I think we need to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and jump into art with a spring in our steps...

James, you sure have sprung into spring.  Very, very well done horses and you made than stand out against that dark  background very well.  Baby looks so dependent on Mama and she looks to be a caring Mama.  You used wonderful colors on their fur.  You did a good job with the hay at their feet.  The light area with the saddle on the left balances the horses and points toward them.  Wonderful spring painting.

Marsha- Well said. Hip Hip Hooray!

James- Love the colors of your horses. You made their lodging very pleasant. The ground looks very nice. Mama and Baby are attentive to each other. I have been trying to figure out what are the brown thingies on the left (our left) side. Look to me like logs but what are the black and white circles? My knowledge of farmyard is practically nil.

O.K. Just finished reading Sammy's post above. She identified the brown thing as Saddle. Good eyes Sammy and James never mind my question. I need to read and learn more about farm life.

Thanks James for your info on the circles.
