Jen, Cotton sure does stand out more now that you've darkened the bg. The white looks whiter. I love his green eyes. He looks like he's ready to ponce. I'll stay out of his way. Nice drawing.

Fred, I believe that you are a mountain kinda guy! Great mountains and pretty sky. I like the sun setting behind the mountain.
Fred--Your sun set is impressive. Heavy dark sky when the sun is setting behind purple mountains. Your imagination is running strong here. Love the color scheme. Agree with Sammy that you are a mountain man.

C&C are welcome and appreciated.
Hi All: Just found out the red rose is called " Knock Out" rose. It blooms all year round and very easy to grow. I tried to start painting it but had to toss my effort away. I think I will try again using Oil Pastel and will under paint it with Acrylic. Have to check the color wheel for best compliment color for the back ground.
Well, it's so quiet tonight, I wonder whether there will be nocturnal artists working through the night again tonight. I admire those who are dedicated and push themselves working late. I can not do that due to my shortcomings but envy those who can. Hope all of you are working on the Challenges right now.
C & C's always welcome
Well Sandi, I did work last night on the rose but it turned out a total mess. I did it with water colour pencils and when I added water it all turned to mud. Tonight I nearly threw it away but thought I would have another try with pastels. It still rubbish but a little better. I really need to find a yellow rose to get the colours right as translating from red to yellow just doesn't work. So just to show I was working!!!
Fred - your painting is so fun... you combined the sunset, sunrise, and mountain in Oregon. good job.
Jen - your pencil of the cat is just stalking,,,, you seemed to capture his thoughts.... look out! I'm watching you. !
Your rose in Yellow is bright. Good job changing it up.

C & C Always Welcome
It takes courage to learn about oneself from one’s failures as well as from one’s successes.
Here is my attempt at Cotton the Cat. colored pencil 6x9.
hello again, I listened to some constructive critiques and have reworked my rose here it is.
Jen, you certainly are hard on yourself. You did a good job with the rose. Yellow is a tough color to work with. You have good values and a good looking rose.
Marsha, you are really keeping busy and using those colored pencils well. This is a good rendition of Cotton. You have suggested the fur texture nicely.
Your rose is so beautiful. There is good depth in it and I still love the bg. Thanks for posting your finished painting.
Jen-- Your rose is beautiful. It has the right form, nice curls of the petals.Water color pencils are not easy to get the right color when use for the large area. I use it to add definition to my WC or filling in where needed. If I want to spice up my colors sometimes I sneak in OP on top of the WC. You might want to try that. Love the blue green background.
