75cm x 50cm acrylic on canvas.
My first portrait with acrylics, 3yr old grandson Mason
well-done! The feet, legs and expression are rendered beautifully. I like the hair and recession of the background. Had to smile with the clever way you did the hands hidden - hands are hard to get realistically. Good work !
.Thank you mskatz for your comments, I was lucky his hands were hidden.

nice artwork! I wish I could paint like you. Your style in painting is great, smooth and really fantastic :)

Thank you Rainbowpalette for your kind comments, just study the subject and paint what you see not what you think you see. Practice, practice, practice.
Paint what you see, not what you think you see is very good advice. In addition to practice, practice, practice, I would say relax and have fun.
Correct Autumn, the most important part is enjoy yourself.
It all becomes so much easier.
Well, Paul - I think the face, skin colors/shading and jean shorts are just excellent - great work!
I must ask - do you have photos of this portrait in stages? That would be very enjoyable to see.
Thank you cschiefs for your comments, unfortunately I didn't take any WIP snaps with that one.
I have just started to do that with my latest painting as someone else asked the same question
abou another one.
