Marsha, Kudo to you for sketching.  I have a friend who taught art in high school for many years before retiring and she makes it a point to sketch everyday for 15 minutes.

I have three original paintings of those pears because I did them as a demonstration when I was teaching how to pour a wc bg and use colored pencil for the finish.  You did a good job of those shadows and the dark bg makes the pears really stand out.

I love the shoes.  You did a fantastic job on those.  And the towels look great.  You do well with the folds and draping of fabric.  Hubby's sleeve looks good, too.  How did you get him to stand still so long?

You got  good proportions on the singers face.  The drawing of your grandson and Yukon is excellent.  That would make a super painting.

Thank you Sammy for the nice compliments.  I would very much like to paint the Homework picture...  the ottoman is maroon Red and Jackson has on a Dark blue shirt.  great contrast.  I just have to keep drawing it until I really get it down...

Marsha- I think you are very good at sketching. I took some classes at Wet Canvas from beginning drawing in Class1 thru Class 8 or 9 and stopped there when the next class was to review a book on drawing. I don't have time to read the book. Anyhow, when we got to the class for drawing folds on fabric we were thinking that it's the high level from the beginning. You did very well with draped and folds of fabrics. The pears have good shapes, shoes look like women shoes. The singer was really singing. I love the last one of your grandson and his dog. You have good lines and shadings. The face, body and hands of the boy are in good proportion. The dog is well done too. You will go a long way.

Fred, this is so different for you.  The misty sky is beautiful.  I really like the purples you put in the clouds.  The mountain shapes are so interesting.  This is a very nice painting.

Marsha, I look forward to seeing the Homework painting.  It is so cute.

Fred: I like this it has a dreamy quality. You are really branching out and painting some lovely effects with those WC's.

Well I e-mailed the Challenge to Holly so hopefully it will come up tomorrow. Hope you like my choices.

I had a rough day and night yesterday. I went to art class and then felt unwell with pain discomfort in my back, shoulders and underarms across my chest and I felt weak and just yucky so after class I called my Doctor and then went to ER. stayed until 5:00am!!! After EKG, x-ray, and two blood tests I was fine. the blood test indicated possible heart attack but follow up one which if spiked would confirm was lower so other than suggesting a stress test nothing to worry about unless it happens again. I guess it is always best to check but ER is a right pain. I was worried about what I could be catching!!!

Jen - Yesterday must have been the day for not feeling well - - I "called in sick" for last night and tonight - asthma flaring up again.  I didn't think I would be able to sleep last night (since I had slept all day expecting to go to work as usual) but did not have a problem - only awake at 4:30 AM which doesn't bother me - - I sort of like the early morning quite hours at home.

Your not feeling well sounds much scarier, though.  Possible heart attack - YOW! - - You need to make sure that ticker is operating like it's supposed to - that's REALLY scary!    Hope you have follow up appointments with your doc to make sure you are OK.  I am sure we will all be on "nins and pooodles"  ( Wink)  until we hear all is well with you.  I certainly will be!

I got your email  (and the conversations here) requesting help finding how to post the Challenge thread, but no email containing the Challenge.  I sent you an email with instructions to post the new Challenge thread, but if you are not feeling well, I will be glad to post it for you if you will resend the email with the Challenge, since I will be at home and awake all day.

Take care of yourself first!

Holly

Jen, my goodness, what a scare!  I'm so glad that all is well.  I hope you have a cardiologist to keep tabs on your heart.  It's good that this didn't happen while you were traveling but it's not good that it happened at all.  Take it easy and DO NOT HAVE A HEART ATTACK!

Jen- Hope you are resting well now. That is so scary! I also have to be careful b/c I have high Cholesterol but I stopped using drugs such as Lipitor, etc. due to side effects. My doctor is just monitoring me to make sure that the reading doesn't spike higher. I try to do a lot of exercise and eating right but those might not be enough.

I think maybe all the traveling is catching up with you so please make sure you have lots of sleep and resting time.

Fred- Your stone work looks so realistic and I love your color scheme. The trees growing along and on top of the spires are amazing. You captured them well.
