size: 30/40 cm
medium: oil on canvas ( I also used a material to make a headscarf)
I painted this 3-4 years ago but now I am thinking to paint something bigger in this style ( the same theme) so your feedback is valuable for me :)
Love your use of colour, and the positioning of your subject - the eyes command attention. What I find distracting is the mouth area - the teeth, while their colour is nicely muted they are distracting because of the positioning of the space between the two front teeth. Your painting is very appealing.
Thank you very much! I should there is no teeth in the painting it is just mouth. You probably thought that this odd whitish color was teeth but they are not it is just mouth :)
thank you very much I am happy you liked it
Oh thank you for saying that about the teeth because i could not see any teeth just nice full lips! Very nice painting the eyes call you!
I also see teeth - 3 of them, off center. If I squint real hard, then I can envision that they are part of the upper lip but I do see a distinct lower edge to the upper lip and implies there are three teeth visible.
This painting is amazing!!! The color use is great. The eyes are mesmerizing and the fabric movement is perfect! However, both my husband and I thought there were teeth as well.
The reason people are seeing teeth is the amount of contrast. It's too much contrast (too bright). People are used to seeing a dark upper lip because light typically comes from above. Check a mirror. The light in the image appears to come from the left because of how her eyes are shining. That doesn't explain the extremely bright underside of the upper lip.
As far as next image, have a clear plan for your lighting because the values and contrast could do more to define the volumes.
The lady’s eyes
represent true feelings which is impossible to find in some eyes now days.
