I had some Giclee prints made of my work on canvas and #1, the establishment that printed it did it without my signature printed on it (why would they do that?) and #2 what do I sign it with? I tried to sign it with oil and it's taking forever to dry...should I sign it with acrylic? Thanks for any input, Sherry
Sign it with acrylic. A Giclee is a ink-jet print like yours at home but on steroids. They supposedly use archival inks but it is water-based.
As far as the signature left off ??? I would call them and ask. If the art work was signed, they would actually have to go into photoshop with the scan file and do that . When you find out post it because I'm curious. It was signed on the art work wasn't it? Or did you give them your signature on a piece of paper to add on?
Perhaps because some people sign there giclee prints individually to show that you were the one who is responsible for these prints being created rather than some anonymous person scanning the work and selling prints.
