Dear Courtney:

I need your help because I can't get a hotel room and the Portola hotel is saying me that I can get room with the price $ 145.00 just if the group coordinator contracts more rooms. Is it possible that group coordinator could talk to hotel to give a room? Please, I need your help to be there with the masters

The email sent to me by hotel (below)

Therese,

Unfortunately at this point the room block for Weekend With the Masters is sold out at the rate of $145. The $229 rate that is being offered is the hotels Best Available Rate for the time frame requested. The only way to get a $145 rate would be if the group coordinator contacted the hotel and contracted more rooms out. So at this point the only rate available will indeed be the $229

Hi, Keep working with Courtney on this and send her a personal conversation today and she will notify the appropriate person. I had the same problem last year. I called the reservation line and they told me the same thing. I contacted the hotel directly and they told me that they would honor the price. It doesn't seem like Portola is willing to do this. Hopefully, next year AA will discuss this with the hotel prior to any commitment with the hotel, since it seems as if this will probably happen again.

Hi, I was just wondering if you ever got this resolved. I ask because I'd hate to see you without a room because the hotel filled up. It's a good idea to stay at the same place as the convention; it's very convenient. I found myself popping upstairs  to my room every now and then.

I have a room reservation at the Portola hotel and am looking for a possible (woman) roommate to share the room.  Anyone interested?

I might be interested,  I booked a room at a hotel nearby since I will be alone and it was cheaper.  If it is cheaper still to share with you,  I'm willing to share.  How much would it be to split the room,  did you get the $145/night rate?  When do you have the room reserved for?   I'm coming in on Tuesday night and leaving Sunday morning.

Hello Carin,

I have the room reserved for the nights of the 5th through 10th.  My husband will be with me the night of the 5th, so I can share the room the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th, checking out on the 11th.  I'm doing the entire weekend, with workshops with Dan Gerhartz, Scott Burdick, Susan Lyon, and Quang Ho.  Very, very excited to be coming to this!  I did request two queen beds, and got the $145 rate, so half of that would save us both a lot!

If you want to communicate further, why don't you E-mail me at pumpmck@aol.com

Hi Carin,

Received your E-mail, and I responded to you but haven't heard back -- just wondering if my E-mail went into your spam?  Looking forward to meeting you (and everyone else!).  It's coming up soon!
