are these a good brand of pastels, are they worth getting?

Its really hard to say what a good brand is for another artist. I would suggest buying a single pastel from a few brands and testing them out to see what you really enjoy using. Many art stores sell individual colors in soft pastels.
People choose their materials by a variety of features, some make their choice only by price. The materials make a huge difference, however, in your finished piece. You'll want to consider the overall appearance of course, but also your personal technique, lightfastness, archival qualities and even paper qualities.

Thanks for the advice. I bought a few pastels of different brands. I seem to have had a connection with cray pas expressionists
