Inserting a link in your post / comment

I've had a couple people say that the link button is disabled and wonder how they insert a link. It does indeed work, but perhaps a little differently that some may be used to. In our site, there are two ways to insert a link in your post, comment, or any other area.

Option 1

Write some text, then select it and click the "link" button on the text editor tool bar as shown in this screenshot. That's how I made this link.

Option 2

The other method is to just type in a URL starting with the http:// ... be sure to keep typing with a space or somethiing after the URL. The system should automatically convert the URL and make it clickable. For example: http://www.www.artistdaily.com

Of course, no sooner did I write this than I see a small problem. The link I made with option 1 underlines when I roll over it, but it isn't really a link. I'll look into that as well.
