Any thoughts on writing your artist's statement/bio?
Hi bpmpaint, I would start by looking at other bio's to see what artist are including in their bio's. You could probably start with what inspires you to paint, what is your favorite medium, have you had any formal training or are you self-taught, when did you acquire your love for art,how long you have been painting and do you have any long term goals. These are just a few suggestions to mabye help you get started. I would probably lay it out in word processing and once it is refined, then put it in your personal data. Good Luck and Happy Painting.
Excellent advice - I have to finish up my artists bio for my new website - so I appreciate this too!

I agree,Excellent advise. My problem writing a bio is, I do to many things.I have trouble singling anything out.
I paint portrait and landscapes(easle size).I also paint murals in peoples homes and businesses.I also have
a passion for sculpture.I carve miniature figurines in sticks of chalk, and larger pieces in wood and stone
up to larger than life size works in cement.I love each of my artistic facets equally.Unfortunately most people
have short attention spans and can't comprehend it all. What can I do? If I single anything out the other things
get jealous. GroovinReu'ven
Hi GroovinR, I think people with atistic ability are truly gifted and blessed. If you are having problems getting your thoughts together in an organized manner one solution would be make an outline of what you want to say. List each area of art you work in, like carving, painting and mediums you work in, how long you have been working in each area etc. Also you could include what motivates or inspires you to produce works of art. Statements can be short and to the point. I hope this is a help to you.
I checked out your bio and it looks like you are new to Artist Daily. If so, I want to welcome you to this fantastic site. I will be checking for some of your art work on this site.
Good Luck and Happy Painting
