"As a landscape painter, I consider myself blessed beyond words to have "traveling to places of incredible beauty" be part of my "work". I have set a goal for myself to try to take at least one trip a year to someplace I have always wanted to paint. I feel that in order to stay inspired and have my work stay fresh, I need to do this. I most recently traveled to the Grand Canyon for ten days, to paint, what I would soon learn, one of the most difficult landscapes on earth! Forms and colors changing constantly under a VAST expanse of sky, it proved to be an exercise in patience and humility for my painting partner, artist Jeanne Pierce, and me. After ten days of painting in 100 degree temperatures I felt that my all my artistic skills and fortitude had really been tested! A trip I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a challenge and an experience they will never forget!"
