Hi Everyone,

Scott, I am just beginning to put my toes into the water on oil painting and am no expert, but as far as I am concerned, the gradation alone is fabulous on this. The solid dark background that you have used here really helps to make the portrait seem to glow. I think it is fabulous.

Incredible portrait, his eyes are mesmerizing.  Would you mind answering a question?  The face is so detailed but the shirt is almost matte in appearance with little detail.  Is there an artistic reason for this choice? This may sound like a silly question but I am fascinated by the creative process.  You are a master of portraits.  Thanks for sharing, Sharon

This painting is quite haunting. I am just amazed at your skill, Scott.  I really love the way you focused the face and let the shirt and background just be themselves in simplicity.  These skintones are stunning.  I cannot wait for more comments!
