I don't yet know how to add updated attachments to a previous post so I just created a new post. Here is the final version of the portrait of my brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law.
This is a wonderful work. I'm sure they will love it.
Thank you so much!
Good job! I am impressed by the way you handled the grass as background. Just the right amount of texture, without competing with the figures. This wedding gift is sure to become a family heirloom for a very long time.
A season is set for everything; a time for every experience under heaven.
Thanks!! Lots of "firsts" on this little painting. I wasn't exactly sure how I was going to 'convey' grass. How do I view your paintings?
What Edna said, and I also like how you painted the folds in the polo shirt. This is very well done.
I have only been active on this site for about a week. In that time I have uploaded several of my pieces into the members gallery. I guess the easiest way to locate them would be to click on my username next to this reply. That would take you to my profile page which shows thumbnails of my submissions.
Thank you Diane. The fabric folds was another "first" for me. I think I might be hooked on folded fabric rendering now! That was my favorite part to work on. How do i view your works?
That's the first time you've painted folds in fabric? Wow. I do find it quite satisfying, myself. I was just sketching today in a cafe, and can never resist all the value changes in clothing.
I don't have anything posted here. I have a few things on my blog. http://amaranthiarts.wordpress.com/
Wow. first for holds. Second portrait. New to grass. Awesome talent.
Thanks Helen. I certainly love this whole "painting thing"!
Diane, I admire anyone who sketches in public. I'm too self-conscious so mine attempts at sketching are more or less just doodles. Plus, I suck at drawing.
