Here I am, a Swede in Texas, not new to painting but to the site...smile. I have already post under plein air a request of help, advice with a competition I'll participate soon in, hope I can get all the advices as possible,  very grateful for anything.

Hi Mona.  Welcome to the site.

I've participated in a plein air competition, but I have read a few invitations to do so.  The ones I've seen actually recommended visiting the painting area site in advance to check all the things you mentioned in your plein air post.  Good luck!
