The blue of the sky doesn't work for me here - especially when compared with the green of the grass - It needs punching up a bit and may be the grass needs toning down?

Robert, i just realized that you'd stated your piece to be 20 x 30". Wow! That's big for a cp! I'd love to see some WIPs of the grass. I'm trying to imagine how that is done in Colored Pencil.

OK. That one worked. The picture seems a bit grainy, but these stones show that i am a bit 'structured' LOL! Had great fun with them though & as you may see, he's a bit LARGE. :D

That's funny Rick, because i was thinking that same thing about Robert's peice! And i am drawn to that grass not only because of the amazing color, but because it's so perfectly rendered. Great textural stuff.

oddly, is that way with many - tho is really because is reduced online... while good IRL, not as 'real' as is shows on the screen... used those Inktense pencils, which let ye wet the tips and use, and once dry are 'set'... and as seen, very intense in color...

it was an imaginary piece, all from my head, and was a fun thing to play with the theme/title, "Stoned Wall"...

Thanks Karyn & Val. It is funny val, that we haven't realy shared that much before (although i have been a fan of your phtography).

Great job anonrobt! I love the colors too! Looks like a lot of work. CP, right? I havn't done free form rocks such as yours, but i have painted many different types of stone walls & of course a lot of rocks in my landscapes. I'll post some of those tomorrow.

There's something about stones & rocks that makes them a very appealing subjcet matter to me. Probably the fact that they can really hold a pose.

Very nicely done structured rock... ever do stones? like this, Stoned Wall -

20"x30" colored pencil on Stonehenge paper...
