Hi Lori!

Thank you for your encouragements. I am also a beginner. I am not that good in drawing though. There are a lot of resources that we can use in oir drawings. For me, a measuring kit that I've found in the internet helped me a lot. I have learned the basics of drawings like the alignments, the proportions and like the grids because of this kit. If you have time, check it out guys. I just asked my mom to buy it for me. It's pretty cheap though It helped me a lot. It is called ACCURASEE. You can search it in the internet.

Thank you, that is encouraging. I have only been painting for the last two years and I have definately my own style.. not for everybody! I'm into 3D effects etc. You are a great artist!

I was a beginner

Hi all, I was a beginner, and I have to say it took me about 6 years to learn how to paint the way I wanted to in Watercolor. I'm a slow learner though, and most artists catch on way faster.

I want to encourage beginners to find the best education they can, and if you don't have the money to take workshops, there are many fine books and of course American Artist Magazine to lift you to the next level. I've learned a ton over the years from reading articles and trying new techcniques out.

It took many years for me to develop my own style, but the journey has been joyful. So hang in there and don't give up. If it were easy, everyone would be good at art, and so it wouldn't be worth anything.

But for those of you who draw or paint for pleasure, you have the best world of all because you have the fun without the pressure of having to make money at it. So don't feel bad about it! Making art rejeuvenates the mind (where's that spell checker?)
