Eubie, I like the changes, but still agree with Ron that the "star" of your painting should be your flower arrangement and the painting in the background seems to compete with it.

Either that, or put something a little bit taller into your vase (if you choose to paint out the background painting). Just a thought. And you still might want to do something about the horizon line on the background painting.

Might I suggest that you soften the background so the vase & flowers stand out.

That way the main object is in focus and the lesser objects are not...
