Why does the double-post monster keep biting me???
This is my favorite so far, I've really enjoyed your journal entries and your videos! I always like the intro to your videos.
Valerie, Thank you so much! I figure if I keep trying to force spring to happen every couple of weeks, eventually I'll make it happen! :)
Dragon, I think mandalas are cool too. I've never really tried them before though. They take me a long time and I'm not usually one for that kind of patience.
Sharon, Thank very much! I enjoy making the videos almost as much as the journal pages. My daughter giggles every time she sees herself on that motorcycle.
This week, I've been taking an online workshop with Dirty Footprints Studios. I demoed my rendition of the tissue paper background. This has a foundation of tissue paper, spray paint, acrylic poster paint, elmer's paint markers, and ink.

Wow, things have really been busy in my little world! I bought a building to put in an art school. That and all the online challenges I have been involved with, I have been working in several journals doing lots of pages. This week i did one based on the March Challenge over at artjournaling.ning.com prompt: Orange

Hi Blade. Glad you're back. I've missed your journel.
A school? Wow.
Oh yes, Helen, a school! It's a MAJOR project, to say the least. But everyone's got to have a hobby, right?
This week, either in celebration of the obscure Lady Day or because I found a chord progression from "Rain on the Scarecrow" that I could play, I give you Art Journal Scarecrow.

Whew, April was another busy month! The baby is three months old now and we're sleeping most nights again so I should be able to get a whole lot more accomplished with the journal, the school, the writing etc. ;) Famous last words, eh?
This first is the April Fools tribute:
You can see the video for it here: http://videos.artistdaily.com/video/Art-Journal-April-Fools-Day
Next was the tribute to Tax Day:

In a tribute to my busy-ness I blogged about not being able to do anything for my school except touch the wall.

I tried a foiling technique and it looked like a big ol' coin to me so I made a tribute to money
You can see the video here: http://videos.artistdaily.com/video/Art-Journal-Money
And then finally this week I did a tribute to May Day
This video is rated PG! You can see the video here: http://videos.artistdaily.com/video/Art-Journal-First-of-May-PG-ver
I made a big long post EARLY this morning and it's not here? I'm confused.
These are great!
Sorry about the lost post, Blade, but sometimes the forum software is a little funky, especially if you had any links in it. It's possible that it might show up sometime later.
If you have a website or blog, it can be posted as a signature address every time you post. You can do this by hitting the Edit Profile, top right corner.

LOL! A week later I got an e-mail saying my post had been approved. So, scroll back up and take a peek at them. I will post last week's and this week's separately so that maybe I won't have that problem again.
Last I did this really cool dragonfly. This one is kind of cheating because it is in preparation for a larger painting that I am planning, so it's not technically "journaling". Anyway, I started with some Jackson Pollock -esque spatters and then layered over it to use the spatters only as texture and detail in discretion.

This week, I experimented with heavy gloss layers. I love the work of Wyanne and wanted to find a way to add that depth to my journal pages. I ended up using vinyl and liquid medium. You can go to my U-stream channel and watch the science behind my choice. I am VERY pleased with the results and must revisit this technique!

I love the page where it's the outside and you can look into the window- and then you turn the page and it's the inside of the house - same window- very clever! It makes me want to do same in my own journal. terrific!
I know...long time, no post.
I haven't been doing much in the way of art, as I decided to start an online button shop, and have been busy with that.
How is everyone doing?
Wow, I haven't been here in a REALLY long time. I'll try to get all the missing pages entered, and there's a bunch of 'em.
This was a tribute to the fallen and a quest for peace from Memorial Day 2010. There's a video for it here: http://www.artistdaily.com/media/p/103748.aspx
This entry was done for the anniversary of our first date.
