It would be very helpful if you would tell us how big the paintings are.  That information tells us a lot about your techinique and the size of your brush strokes.  They look small, but how small??  Also, are they alla prima?

The first one is 8"x10" and the second one is 11"x 14"  Both are Alla Prima Both are a Zorn Palette. White...Yellow Ochre...Cad Red...Lamp Black
