I recently found this website and appreciate all the content and now discovered this forum for critique. I need critique. I did a lot of drawing in high school and then life took over. Fast forward 40 years and here I am, rediscovering art. I am self taught, I have done a few colored pencil pieces recently and would like some advice. The first one I am posting was actually the first since high school and was done a few years ago. It is an unfinished picture of my son done with Prismacolor pencils on Stonehenge paper from a photo. Sorry about the shadow in the photo.  I think that the main problem here was I didn't keep my point sharp enough during the process. I have two others that I want to post that were done in the past 4 months. I will post those next.  I took a little different approach with them. My plan is to do a little sketching everyday until I loosen up my technique. I want to be able to do quick, gestural drawing which, as you can see, is not my general tendency.
