Sarah the background is well done. I like the mysterious look. The objects are well done but I think it lacks some in composition.
C and C always welcomed
Hello Nealey, well done! you and thanks re. the still life.
Jen...best one yet noticed you commented on your 'red' too!
Geri....thanks for commenting on the still life......agree about the composition......I was more interested in the pot/lemon so maybe should have just painted them. The original ref. IMO wasn't a good comp. either.
feel free to make constructive c/c...no digital alterations please
Great selection Nealey.
Gerri, thanks. He is Curly two because his brother is Curly one! :)
Sarah, well thanks I am quite pleased with it but still some work needed
Jen C & C's always welcome
Samen 57 welcome to the group. I hope you will join in and tell us a bit about yourself and show some of your art and take up one of the challenges. Do you want us to call you Samen?
Well this is not anywhere close to a Nealypea but it is the best I could do. It is black, white and Indian red colored pencil on yellow pastel paper. You can't learn if you don't try.
Jen, in answer to your question on how to sell art..........one word ~ NETWORKING
Comments and critiques are welcome.
Geri - you can't learn if you don't try!! ABSOLUTELY TRUE! I have to say her red pupils are a little scary.
Saman ~ Welcome to the group and hope to see you post something in any of the challenge months. EX: If you do artwork based on a photo from June, post it in the June challenge. I think most of us have it set so that we get an Emailnotification on ALL CHALLENGE POSTS - also CHATTER!
Gerri, this is a good try and her eyes are in the right place if a bit of an odd colour. You might check her nose though. That seem too small and a bit lopsided. Certainly a good effort. Keep it up and you will get better every time.
Nealey, yes but networking with whom and on what!
you are quite right about 'if you don't try' you won't learn..
it has to start with drawing and observation. I was hoping you would post a silverpoint drawing.
Sarah the fruit and the pot look great.
Jen your portrait of Curly 2 turned out great. I'm sure Mom is excited to hang it.
Nealey congratulations on the sale! :)
Geri I find portraits difficult. One line or highlight or shadow slightly off and you have a different person. You are getting closer every time.
C&Cs always welcome
Thanks for all the comments on Niagra. I added some dry brushing to the mist and flowing water. I'm going to stop before I make it worse.
If we only had some idiot going over the falls in a barrel it would be perfect. Great job Karen.
Thank you Kicker and Geri for the nice comments.
Kicker this was based on a photo taken by my Dad in early June. It was a very cloudy day. My parents went back to falls for their 60th anniversary. They honeymooned there in 54. I will frame this for them.
Geri that is so funny. Bob wanted me to put in Godzilla taking the ALS bucket challenge
