Hi

I have a painting that I did in Acrylic.  I like it but because I used medium the painting is shiny.(particularly when I photograph it)  Any suggestions as to what I can use to tone down the shine?

You can mix acrylic matte medium with acrylic gloss varnish/medium - equal amounts should give you a semi gloss effect.  You can add more of the matte if  the shine is still too much.  Add a bit of water to make brushing on a little easier.  You can also get spray varnishes in gloss and matte.  Spraying with the matte alone will make your painting non-shiny.   Liquitex is a product I use.
