Hi there,
I am a visual artist from Toronto, in Ontario - Canada. Although I am originally from Montreal (French Canadian). Anyhow, I saw the ad in the magazine (I am a subscriber) and I decided to join the forums.
I was just looking for your feedback and perspective on the member/online version? How do you guys find it as compared to the printed version?
Also, do you have a lot of Canadian members? Just wondering.
Have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
SuzieB

Welcome Suzie,
There are a few artists from Canada here, I live in Grand Bend, on Lake Huron.
I use both the online and printed versions of AA. I really prefer the interaction available in this format though, but then again I take the magazines to coffee shops in lieu of a laptop, so both work for me.
Hope to see some of your work posted here, and feel free to jump in at any time and ask questions or make comments.

Hi Suzie and welcome to the forums! I also use both the online and print versions of AA. I also subscribe to AA Drawing magazine and The Pastel Journal. I was a long time subscriber to Wildlife Art News until they discontinued it last year - I kept every single issue of that magazine and now I am glad that I did. I do not keep every issue of AA, but keep articles in my files that I will refer to from time to time - especially techniques, etc. I think both are great, but there is something about a printed piece that you can “take notes in the margins”.
Some of my favorite artists are Canadian - particularly Robert Bateman.
Looking forward to seeing some of your work!

Hi Suzie! Toronto is my hometown & I miss it, especially the vibrant art scene. I'm living in rural Maryland, but we hope to go north again when my husband eventually retires.
As far as print vs online... both have their advantages, different, but good.
Lots to wade through here.

Hi Susie
Nice to see you here and welcome, I'm certain you will enjoy the site and the interaction with the artists. I live in Calgary and have a print subscription as I like to sit back and read and flip and can lay the magazine down at an open page and get back to it later.
