Last January I just got back into it after years of doing nothing. A co-worker, who is in OCA, recently gave me a refresher on Complimentary Colours and I use that info on these painting and it did help. They look better than the ones I didn't use this colour theory on.
Thing is do you ever feel like your moving backwards sometimes. The first post is my last painting, that I feel isn't as good as the last post. (I tried to post them in sequence but it didn't work out that way)
Please critique and give me the next thing I need to work on to improve.
Thanking you all in advance.
This one is really good. You just need some more texture in your grass. It's currently a bit flat and one dimensional. Adding a bit of color with a sponge such as orange, yellow and purple and a smidge of red to indicate some wild flowers would help to make it pop! Some darker shades of brown, black near the trunk base will help as well. I like the foggy feeling!
Thank you, going to try your suggestions.
