This one is linked to the ref. photo of the still life ...it is in monochrome apart from the small amount of yellow. Water-colour 5" x 9" on HP paper.

From my garden and painted plein air.  6" x 6" approx.

Sarah, I agree with Charlie a very nice set of paintings. I particularly like the monochromatic bottle and glass. It is very well done.

Well I am finally done with the still life. I have lost patience with it and finally decided to bring down the bottle a bit and leave it at that. There is enough going on it doesn't need anything else. I tried to straighten the bottle but it is still a bit off. I could probably have brought the bottle doen a bit more but was out od paint and patience!

Hello Charlie...thanks for your comments.

Hello Jen,

attention is drawn to the bottle because it is totally separated from the rest of the still life...you could extend the shadowy violet to reach the glass bowl. The only part of the bottle which looks slightly out of kilter is the neck (if you wanted to make it perfect you could trace the bottle as is, fold the tracing down the centre and then you should be able to see what to adjust if you WANTED to.

Jen, I love seeing the steps you took in developing your still life. My favorite parts of it are the large pieces of fruit - for some reason, the bold colors and highlights really speak to me - absolutely sumptuous.

Sarah, you are so prolific! The monochrome still life and the Mediterranean entrance are my favorites ... subtle and beautiful.

Alex

Hi Jen!  Thanx for showing all the changes in your still life. Always nice to see others' thought process.  Fine finished painting - I also like the highlights & I'm very taken with your green hued background color.

Sarah, so many fine WCs!  The Med. entrance is my favorite.  All the cool colors with the red flower highlights ~ wish I was there!

Comments and critiques are welcome.

Sarah, You have captured this sweet pony beautifully. The bg environment is very well done  too. Bonny looks like a gentle soul and must be a big hit with the children.

Thank you all for the nice comments on my still life. I did work on it again and thought about not posting again but as it is the rest of the story here it is. No comments necessary.
