Help with portfolio

I need some helpful advice, and honist critiquing for some of my art because I want to start a portfolio for collage.

 Also, I plan on majoring in in illustration. Sorry if they are grainy the one of the dog isn't finished yet.

very nice impressionistic style...I really like that top one. The colors are beautiful and the way it gives a rainy feel with the lights glowing bright is just perfect. The dog one is nice (haha, a bit difficult since it's on it's side) the only advice would be to give a more fur texture to the body...on the the head I get a clear idea that its fluffy, but on the body it smooths out a bit too much. But it's very good proportionately and cute, not as moving as that first piece though, and in building a good portfolio you want very strong moving pieces (well, for gallery, not sure about illustration)
