Iam surprised of the things people collect plus those museums out there for collectibles like that barbed wire museum or bubble gum museum or tiki mugs, whatever, there is so much to draw or paint out there plus old products or defunct old ads for study.
I get so much inspiration from products to collectibles that no longer exist or mix n match products in my art from different periods like a retro cork screw from the fifties paint along side with a sad blue dog plastic piggy bank from 1971.
I see a old Walt Disney crayon tin and a old Blue Ribbon brand stamp pad, these things bring good memories in art or a comic book laying at a angle on the table, very difficult to do realisim with all that writing on comic, tin or stamp pad.
I have many Nordic Ware mold pans and chocolate tin molds, just think of making a still life of the various metals from these many molds, dull pewter to shiny polished tin, it will have the many variations of gray from dark to light but I know shiny metal can pull colors from the background also. Just metal objects or molds in the reverse, looking inside the mold.
