Welcome, Mari!  Hope to see your work in the pastel forum, your teddies are charming!  I'm even more amazed that you still have work from age 8 in 1959.  I have NO idea where any of my youngun is!

Sad Dont feel bad very little of my art has survived, my parents never had much interest in art, work was always thrown out but I did have one crayon drawing that survived from kindergarten, a crayon drawing with my mother's face in red and blue stripes. Why stripes, will back then there was a flesh colored crayon except every kid in class wanted the flesh colored crayon and it was not passed to me after two hour drawing session, we were drawing our favorite person be it a parent or friend or hero and I was desperate, only had a blue, red and black crayon, most kids were very very shelfish, I was the only one that didnt have a flesh colored face and my mother hated that picture because she had stripes on her face, ha ha, still have it, I  saved my own art. My aunt also threw out bags of my art from high school, everybody had a low opinion of art and kept telling me to get a job, my parents refuse to pay for art school.
