Hello! I am just starting out as an artist and I have zero training, classes, instruction etc.. Because of this I am very well aware that there may be some key aspects of my artwork that I need to improve, or maybe there are important aspects I have completely neglected. So I just would like some feedback on this particular piece I recently finished. It is an abstract piece and the photo doesn't show all the detail. Feel free to be brutally honest! It is much appreciated.

It seems you don't need it. If you are happy with what you are doing continue.

Anyhow to read about painting in general and abstract painting seems to me

a got idea to broaden your view.

  1. The piece is pleasing, but needs depth and needs something to show your hand vs others in such a manner.  Look at this as the base of your piece and look at what can be added.  Can you add texture to give something for the eye to move around, or to make either the swirls to stand out, or maybe even the white?  How about adding more straight line to the piece? What I do is use PowerPoint, Gimp or some other software to play a little with my piece.
